When you give possible candidates auto-filled in various types of sudokus, it becomes a pattern matching sort of, that if we click on a confirmed digit, then all other locations of that digit get highlighted, so we can visually pattern match to remove any single entry in a row-column-set.of.9. That is not exactly a sudoku method. It is bypass and a cheat-sheet.

I suggest that especially in tournament sudokus, auto-fill of possible candidates should be "removed". Let the users manually fill each and every digit. That will make tournaments more fun and run longer and would require more understanding of sudoku basics.
